Mutual Aid Lāhui is a community-driven organization dedicated to providing support and resources during times of need. We believe in the power of collective care and strive to show up for our neighbors through direct assistance, whether that means offering food, shelter, emotional support, or other essential aid. Our mission is to foster resilience and solidarity by responding swiftly and compassionately in any way we can.

OUR MISSION…

to empower the Lāhui through education, advocacy, and mālama ʻāina. We are committed to providing relief efforts in times of need, fostering resilience and unity within our community.

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO…

Our team is dedicated to serving our Lāhui through committed and sustained efforts. We came together through our shared connection with Onipaʻa and deepened our bonds while working on the soil of our māla. United in purpose, we have advocated tirelessly for the protection of iwi (ancestral remains), wai (water), and ʻāina (land).

"Aʻohe hana nui ke aluʻia." | "No task is too big when done together."

“In Hawaiian, makamaka means more than friend - it is one with whom you share freely, like the buds forming a corm of kalo (taro), each new shoot a promise of continuation.

Kalo does not grow alone, it thrives in clusters, nourished by the same waters, bound by lineage and mutual care.

To have true makamaka is to grow side by side, - rooted, reciprocal and always returning to one another.”
